Global warming is a buzzword today but it definitions lies in the hearts of science.It is the phenomenon in which increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases increase the average temperature of the earth.The greenhouses gases alter the heating in the atmosphere by allowing incoming solar rays to pass through but trapping the heat emitted back by the earth’s surface.The common culprits are carbondioxide,methane,CFCs,nitrogen oxide and sulpher dioxide.Among them carbondioxide takes the 50% position..As their no increases,the amount of heat absorbed also increases thus leading to a hike in the atmospheric temperature.The primary sources of the same are burning of fossil fuels.A trillion tones of carbon burnt would be likely to produce a warming of between 1.6 C or 2.6 C i.e. a most likely 2 C rise!A considerable world’s emission are attributed to the large scale use of fuels in vehicles and factories.The growing pollution is adding fuel to the fire.With development as the lame excuse,the so-called miracles of science creatd by the nature’s obstinate offspring-man have added to the nature’s misery.
Indeed the aftermath is horrible.Recent researches suggest that if the same continues,the average global temperature will increase between 1.5 C to 4.5 C as early as 2030.The 1990s have been the hottest decades since record began.The Himalayan glaciers will be endangered to 75% by 2020.Many islands have already been lost.Damaging stroms,floods,droughts and extreme natural events are on the rise.About 27000 species are getting extinct every year.Scientists shudder at the thought of the future scenario.Too much meddling with nature is sure to result in a muddle and place humanity at the cross roads.Are we ourselves marching towards self destruction!?All these c all for an immediate attention.More and more trees should be planted.Fuming vehicles should be banned at once.Public awareness programmes must be launched.Using less fossi fuels,eliminating CFCs and energy conservation can also help.
Now that’s the destructive potential of global warming.
Global warming is really a result of our unwise and unchecked fiddling with natural resources.We should not forget that we were and are striving on the genorisity of nature.Unless we feel alarmed,we can not pay any heed.
Do we keep on running after exploiting the nature’s bounties for our self-comfort and material benefits or assure that there is something left for the future folks???Its high time we should be serious about curving the evil such that it does not dare to rise its evil head again.
