When we discuss about helping your environment, we are concern with the too much pollution of our environment.

First of all, let us agree that electric power generation uses non-renewable energy fuel and it pollutes the air we breathe in. The next point is that the smoke generation from fossil fuels is one of the primary reasons of worsening greenhouse effect which resulted into the global warming of our planet. Examples of burning fuels are natural gas, coal, oil, and gasoline. These fuels raise the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere which is the main contributor to the greenhouse effect and global warming. Such increase in our earth’s temperature is enough to alter the balance of nature.

The recent strong typhoons, flash floodings and landslides all over the world are side effects of the melting of huge icebergs from the North and South Pole. These worldwide disasters are caused by the global warming of the earth. It is a fact that global warming does raise the temperature of our lands and our ocean waters. It is about time you and I stop the warming up our planet.

By turning off the lights you can lessen the power demand for electric power generation. The reduction of unnecessary heat from each individual lessens the temperature of the globe. It means also we are reducing the burning of fossil fuel thus limiting the emission of air pollutants to our environment. By efficiently utilizing your lights at home and at the office, it could also reduce your electric bill.

Non-renewable energy resources as we all know can not be replaced and the faster we consume it, the greater problem we are imposing on the whole world’s economy. These non-renewable energy sources need energy-efficiency plan from all nations in the globe. It is a common responsibility for everybody to help conserve our non-renewable energy resources.

It is a known fact that utilization of the fossil fuel pollutes the air we breathe in. It is also a threat to you and to your family’s health. Scientists from all over the world also believe that the recent strong typhoons and heavy rain falls are due to the increase in temperature of our lands air surface and ocean waters. One way to conserve and to clean our environment is to observe energy-efficiency program. A simple way of turning off lights for one hour a day could mean a day of preserving our fossil fuel for our future generations. Let us help our environment before it is too late.
